1. PURPOSE
This Cancellation Policy ensures clear and fair expectations regarding appointment changes and cancellations. It protects both clients and Brighter Homes Maintenance and Renovations Pty Ltd by reserving dedicated time and resources for each booked project.
2. SCOPE
This policy applies to all clients and services booked with Brighter Homes Maintenance and Renovations Pty Ltd, including quotations, maintenance works, renovations, and cleaning services.
3. CLIENT CANCELLATIONS
We understand that plans can change. Clients are required to provide a minimum of 48 hours’ notice for cancellations to avoid forfeiture of their deposit.
• Cancellations made with 48 hours’ notice or more may be eligible for rescheduling without penalty.
• Cancellations made with less than 48 hours’ notice may result in forfeiture of the deposit and/or a cancellation fee, as this time has been reserved exclusively for the client’s project.
• Repeated cancellations may result in refusal of future bookings.
4. BUSINESS CANCELLATIONS
Brighter Homes Maintenance and Renovations Pty Ltd reserves the right to cancel or reschedule bookings in circumstances such as severe weather, staff illness, supply chain disruptions, or unforeseen emergencies. In these cases, clients will be notified as soon as possible and offered rescheduling at no cost.
5. REFUNDS & DEPOSITS
All deposits are non-refundable for cancellations made with less than 48 hours’ notice. If a cancellation is made more than 48 hours after the deposit has been paid, the deposit will be forfeited in full, regardless of the scheduled booking date. This covers administrative time, scheduling, and loss of other potential bookings for that time slot. Refunds for cancellations made with adequate notice will be processed within a reasonable timeframe, less any applicable administrative fees. Deposits for rescheduled jobs will be transferred to the new booking date.
6. EXCEPTIONAL CIRCUMSTANCES
We recognise that emergencies can occur. Genuine medical emergencies or other exceptional situations will be assessed on a case-by-case basis, and reasonable flexibility will be offered where appropriate.
