1. PURPOSE
The purpose of this Work Health and Safety (WHS) Policy is to outline Brighter Homes Maintenance and Renovations Pty Ltd’s commitment to providing a safe and healthy work environment for all workers, subcontractors, clients, and visitors. The company aims to prevent workplace injuries and illnesses through effective safety management, compliance with Victorian legislation, and continuous improvement.

2. SCOPE
This policy applies to all Brighter Homes Maintenance and Renovations employees, subcontractors, contractors, visitors, and clients at any worksite where the company operates.

3. RESPONSIBILITIES
Company Responsibilities:
• Provide and maintain safe systems of work and equipment.
• Ensure appropriate training, supervision, and information is provided.
• Maintain safe worksites and minimise hazards.
• Comply with the Occupational Health and Safety Act 2004 (Vic) and relevant regulations.

Worker and Subcontractor Responsibilities:
• Follow all safety instructions and procedures.

• Report hazards, near misses, and incidents immediately.
• Take reasonable care for their own health and safety and that of others.

Client and Homeowner Responsibilities:
• Provide safe access to worksites.
• Inform workers of any known site hazards.
• Cooperate with safety requirements while work is being carried out.

4. HEALTH & SAFETY PRACTICES
Brighter Homes Maintenance and Renovations implements a range of health and safety practices including:

• Conducting site inductions before work commences.
• Requiring appropriate PPE such as gloves, masks, boots, and eye protection.
• Ensuring safe use of ladders, power tools, and hazardous materials.
• Maintaining clean and tidy worksites to minimise slips, trips, and falls.
• Managing waste and debris responsibly.
• Following all relevant WorkSafe Victoria codes of practice.

5. INCIDENT REPORTING & RESPONSE
All incidents, hazards, and near misses must be reported immediately to the site supervisor or business manager. Reports will be documented and investigated to identify root causes and prevent recurrence. Serious incidents will be escalated in accordance with WorkSafe Victoria requirements.

6. COMPLIANCE
